A Doylestown woman and two Jamison men have been arrested by Warminster police and charged with several counts of burglary and related offenses. William, 22, and Brandon, 20, Bainger from the 1900 block of Sunrise Way in Jamison, and Rachel Venettone, 23, of the 200 block of N. West St. in Doylestown, are suspected of committing at least 12 residential daytime burglaries throughout the Central Bucks County region, police said. Investigators accused the trio of entering unoccupied homes by forcing open the rear doors and stealing gold and silver jewelry and electronic items. Residents on Valley Road called the police after witnessing a suspicious man walking around the neighborhood knocking on doors.
A 19-year-old Horsham man has been arrested by Warminster police and charged with several counts of burglary and attempted burglary and has been remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility. Authorities responded to calls by residents from the 200 block of Valley Road that a suspicious man had been seen knocking on doors, then going to the rear of the houses. Responding officers located and identified the man as Caleb Marcus Mumper from Prospect Avenue in Horsham. Mumper was unable to explain his presence in the neighborhood and was arrested for trespassing. Officers have noticed a drop in home invasions after the recent arrests.
Police in Warminster recently took 12 individuals into custody in connection with numerous recent daytime burglaries that – for the most part – have taken place in the neighborhoods west of York Road. Since the arrests have been made, the burglary rate in the township has dropped, police said. A burglary in the 300 block of Hickory Road, which was occupied by an elderly resident, has been connected by investigators to Brandon Ray Lindsey, 18, of Phillips Road, and an unidentified 17-year-old male juvenile, who is also a Warminster resident. Lindsey and the 17-year-old were chased out of the home by the elderly homeowner. The two teens made off with the victim’s credit card and are alleged to have used the card at local stores. Police Chief Michael Murphy said that the intruders have been looking for jewelry to quickly sell and turn into cash.
According to Warminster Police Chief Michael Murphy, Warminster and surrounding communities have seen a significant uptick in daytime, home burglaries since November 2011. Murphy puts the number for Warminster at around two dozen incidents, reported in neighborhoods throughout the entire township. "It's been happening all over, not just Warminster," said Murphy. "It looks like it's related to the uptick in drug use we've also seen in the area. The suspects are taking property that an be easily turned into cash, which is then used to purchase drugs." Tyler Allen Dailey has been charged with seven counts of burglary.
A suspect in a series of home burglaries was apprehended by Warminster police Tuesday afternoon at a nearby hotel, according to a release by the department. An arrest warrant had been issued for Tyler Allen Dailey, 23, on Sept. 9 in connection to a string of daytime robberies that occurred in neigborhoods along Newtown Road between County Line and Street roads during the month of August and beginning of September. According to police, Dailey's alleged method was to knock on the front door, and, after receiving no response, entering through a back window and taking jewelry, electronics and at least three pistols. A number of homes along Newtown Road between Street and County Line Roads have been broken into since the beginning of August.
The Warminster Township Police Department is investigating a series of daytime residential burglaries since the beginning of August. The burglaries are occurring in the neighborhoods located along Newtown Road between Street Road and County Line Road. The most common method of entry is forcing open a rear door or window or breaking the glass. The burglars seem to target gold and silver jewelry and small electronic devices such as laptop computers, cell phones and iPods. In the most recent burglary, two subjects were seen running from the area. The two subjects were described as white males, late teens to early twenties with light colored hair and wearing white T-shirts.
