Eagles fans have had much to complain about this season. As the Birds head into their bye week at 3-3, many are calling for some heads to roll. Andy Reid seems to have taken the call to heart. According to multiple reports, the Eagles fired defensive coordinator Juan Castillo Tuesday morning and named secondary coach Todd Bowles as the new coordinator. "I want to make it clear that I have nothing but the ultimate respect for Juan Castillo as a coach and as a person," Reid said in a statement released by the Eagles. The oldest son of Philadelphia Eagles Coach Andy Reid was found dead this morning in a dorm room at Lehigh University, where the team has summer training camp. Garrett Reid, 29, was found in his bed at the Sayre Park dorms following a struggle of almost 10 years with drug addiction and drug dealing. Reid was helping at camp with players' stength training and conditioning. Eagles general manager Howie Roseman made the announcement to reporters after the team's walk-through Sunday morning: "It is a tough morning for all of us in the Eagles family. Residents and staff gather to cheer on the Eagles as they enter the playoffs.
A wave of green and white washed over the Keystone Clubhouse at Ann’s Choice Retirement Community in Warminster Wednesday afternoon as nearly 200 residents joined members of the Eagles Cheerleading Squad and the team’s mascot, “Swoop,” for a “Go Green” pep rally. The event, which featured Eagles trivia and costume contests, gave Ann’s Choice residents an “opportunity to reconnect with their inner sports fan,” said Executive Director Joe LoCascio. “It gives them such a lift to be able to be part of something like this.” Swoop and Eagles cheerleaders Jackie Ranieri and Tracey Dunn led the standing-room only crowd in cheers to root on the Eagles’ as they enter the playoffs.
