Ambler Tavern Owner Killed in Home Invasion Robbery in Hilltown

Update, 5:03 p.m. The last murder that occurred in Hilltown Township was in 1990 at 12 Key Drive, when Eric Motis stabbed his neighbor Louise C. Hoopes, 42, a secretary at Grand View Hospital, and her sons Douglas, 16, and Daniel, 14, in their beds. Motis, 26, committed suicide in prison in 1998. Motis was facing three life sentences after pleading guilty at trial in 1991. Update, 4:23 p.m. The Reporter reports the black pickup truck has been located in Upper Bucks County. The truck has been located behind Quakertown Plaza Shopping Center on the 1400 block of West Broad Street in Quakertown. Update, 4:14 p.m. Chief Chris Engelhart has identified the victim as Joseph Canazaro, 48. Canazaro lived at the Swartley Road home with his girlfriend…

Police Arrest Trio on Suspicion for String of Home Burglaries

The three suspects are accused of at least 12 home invasions throughout the area.

A Doylestown woman and two Jamison men have been arrested by Warminster police and charged with several counts of burglary and related offenses. William, 22, and Brandon, 20, Bainger from the 1900 block of Sunrise Way in Jamison, and Rachel Venettone, 23, of the 200 block of N. West St. in Doylestown, are suspected of committing at least 12 residential daytime burglaries throughout the Central Bucks County region, police said. Investigators accused the trio of entering unoccupied homes by forcing open the rear doors and stealing gold and silver jewelry and electronic items. The items were then sold at various cash for gold stores in Bucks and Montgomery Counties. They are also believed to be responsible for more than $7,000 of damage to …

5 Face Charges in 2011 Hatboro Home Invasion

Four suspects have been arrested and another is incarcerated for an unrelated offense.

Four men have been arrested and charged in connection with a March 2011 home invasion robbery in which a 33-year-old disabled Hatboro man was pistol-whipped and severely beaten with a crow bar.  This week's arrests of Troy Schussler, 30, of Horsham, Teron Utsey, 29, of Warminster, Robert Johnson, 31, of Perkasie and Michael Wroblewski, 26, of Hatfield follow a year-long joint investigation conducted by the Hatboro Police Department and the Montgomery County Detective Bureau.  Charges include felony counts of robbery, criminal conspiracy, burglary, aggravated assault and weapons offenses.
