Andrew Cairns pleads innocent to charges of attempted murder after police say he engaged them in a firefight Tuesday evening.
Andrew Cairns was brought to a Warminster courtroom Wednesday afternoon for a preliminary arraignment on multiple charges stemming from an alleged shootout he had with Police Tuesday. Police said Cairns’ 90-year-old neighbor was killed in the exchange of gunfire. Bucks County Assistant District Attorney Matt Weintraub said Cairns knowingly risked the life of up to six police officers when he shot at them, attempting to kill them Tuesday evening. Cairns pled not guilty to District Justice Daniel Finello on charges of attempted murder, assault of a law enforcement officer, aggravated assault, multiple counts of recklessly endangering another person and other related offenses. Authorities say the child was abducted and her 61-year-old grandmother was murdered.
Multiple news outlets are confirming that Upper Merion and Pennsylvania State Police are still searching for 10-month-old Saavni Venna after she was abducted from the Marquis Apartments in the 200 block of W. Dekalb Pike in King of Prussia sometime between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Oct. 22. According to NBC10, police have confirmed that the murder victim found at the scene was Saavni's 61-year-old grandmother, Satyavathi Venna, who was baby-sitting at the time. Police issued an Amber Alert after the father returned home later in the day and realized the child was missing. The suspect is fleeing on foot in the Warwick/Warminster area. He is wanted in connection to the murder of a woman in Buckingham Township and the shooting of a police officer in Doylestown.
A suspect that is wanted in connection to a homicide in Buckingham and the shooting of a police officer in Doylestown has allegedly shot at another police officer in Warwick. The suspect's car has been located in the parking lot of Giovanni's Pizza on York and Almshouse roads and reports say he is on foot in the Warwick/Warminster area. At around 12:30 Sunday morning, reports came in of an officer shot in Doylestown, with a second officer who had glass blown into his eyes during the exchange of gunfire. @Tired Of Hypocrisy, even if someone is guilty and running from the police, that in no way justifies or vindicates a reckless officer or officers who brazenly fire at that person when there is no imminent threat.
