The Bucks County District Attorney's Office released portions of Deborah Silva's 911 call during the alleged shootout between Andrew Cairns and Warminster Police at the Jefferson on the Creek apartment complex.
Bucks County District Attorney David Heckler said Deborah Silva was on the phone with a 911 operator during the time the fatal shot was fired that struck and killed her neighbor, 89-year-old Marie Zienkewicz. Heckler said Silva called police that evening to report that her boyfriend, Andrew Cairns, had locked himself in his bedroom and fired two shots from his pistol. According to Heckler, that call turned into a 27 minute conversation between Silva and a 911 dispatcher, with the fatal shot that killed Zienkewicz being fired by police around 17 minutes into the call. The Bucks County District Attorney says a 'perfect storm of events' led to the tragic police shooting of 89-year-old Marie Zienkewicz.
Bucks County District Attorney David Heckler said that the accidental shooting by police of an 89-year-old Warminster woman was partly caused by the the non sequential door-numbering system at the apartment complex where she lived. Heckler said that when Marie Zienkewicz opened her door Feb. 20 to help her neighbor during a shootout at the Jefferson on the Creek Apartments, police believed it was the gunman emerging from his apartment. Heckler said the apartment numbering system utilized by Jefferson on the Creek, coupled with a low-light situation, led police to fire at Zienkewicz in what he called "a tragic mistake." The results of the investigation into the shooting death of 89-year-old Marie Zienkewicz will be disclosed during a press conference Thursday at 3 p.m. at the Bucks County Courthouse in Doylestown.

Investigators still have not said who fired the fatal bullet that killed Marie Zienkewicz at the Jefferson on the Creek Apartments last Tuesday.
Friends and family gathered at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church Wednesday morning for the Funeral Mass of Marie Zienkewicz. Zienkewicz was killed in the crossfire during analleged firefight between her neighbor and Warminster Police at the Jefferson on the Creek Apartments Tuesday. Still no word on who fired the fatal bullet that killed Zienkewicz. Investigators wrapped up at the apartment complex last Wednesday. They told KYW Newsradio that the results of their investigation would not be available until later this week at the earliest. Marie E. (nee Wade) Zienkewicz, of Warminster, died tragically at her residence Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013. She was 89. Mrs. Zienkewicz was the beloved wife of the late Stanley R. Zienkewicz; the loving mother of Stanley R. and his wife, Connie, Donna M. Burke and her husband, Gary, Lynnanne T. Gies and her husband, Bill, and Kevin P. She also is survived by seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Eleanor Keane.
