Girls Scouts Help Ann Choice Residents to Serve Others
The two groups joined together to create cards and care packages for troops serving overseas.
On the day set aside to honor the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King’s birth, Ann Choice’s Keystone Multipurpose Room filled with residents and members of local Girl Scout troops. Ten-year-old Caitlyn was the first person residents met as they entered the room. Caitlyn wore her Girl Scouts pins proudly as she greeted residents and visitors. Next to her was a sign that read “Operation Gratitude.” Thanking Those Who Help to Keep America Free Inside the Multipurpose Room, crafts, cards, letters and friendships were being created. Girl Scouts from the Rolling Hills Elementary School Daily Troop served residents homemade cookies and lemonade. Older girls from troops 21842, 2854 and 2587 worked four stations and helped residents write letters …
