Patch 101: Non-Profit Organizations Can Qualify for Free Advertising

Five percent of our ad space goes free of charge to non-profits.

As mentioned in a previous Patch 101 tutorial, Patch Gives Back to the Community, volunteering is a big part of Patch. We volunteer at least five times a year, list volunteer opportunities in our calendar and let groups make announcements when they're in need of volunteers.   At Patch we also give 5 percent of advertising space to local charities and non-profits free of charge. Patch 101: List Jobs, Classifieds in Marketplace

If your local business is hiring or you're selling some house goods, you can tell us on Patch.

Another user-friendly aspect of Warminster Patch is our Marketplace — the spot for all our classified listings. Here you can let the community know that you're business is hiring, you're selling an old TV, looking for a new roommate or you found a dog on your porch. Adding a listing to the Marketplace is similar to adding an announcement or an event. Follow the steps below to post your classified ad, for free. 1. Choose Marketplace from the navigation bar. 2. You can search for items, or list your classified. 3. Select "Post a classified" and give it a title. 4. Choose a category that best describes your ad. 5. Patch 101: Submit a News Tip

Have the inside scoop? Send us a tip.

Do you have the inside scoop on the goings on in town? Is there a story out there that we aren't covering? Well let us know. By sending Patch a news tip, you can make the editor aware of a topic that he or she hasn't discovered yet, or simply let us know what interests you and the community. You can choose "Send us news tips" from the contribute box at the bottom of the page or "Submit a Tip" at the bottom of any article page. Either way will open a pop-up form. Enter your name and e-mail, and be sure to give us accurate information so we can get in touch with you if we have questions or want to follow up. Then add your suggestion. Patch 101: Patch Gives Back to the Community

Throughout the year Patch employees give back to the community by volunteering.

One perk of working at Patch is the opportunity to give back to the community through the Give 5 program. In addition to the day-to-day coverage of our towns, Give 5 allows employees to volunteer five days throughout the year. If you're in need of volunteers, create an announcement or add an event to our calendar to raise awareness. Patch 101: Ask Questions on Patch

Ask and answer questions about the community and site on Patch.

Are you curious about who has the best pizza around? Maybe you need a dry cleaner to preserve your wedding gown. If you have any questions dealing with Warminster, you can ask it on Patch. Our Q&A section, which can be found in the navigational toolbar, is the place to ask any question you may have. Once you click on the Q&A tab, you can browse by unanswered questions, all questions and questions you've asked. You can also respond to someone's question or post your own. When you start to type in the "Ask a question" spot, that section of the page will expand. You can then add an explanation to elaborate on what you're asking. Celebrate your accomplishments, weddings, promotions, etc. on Patch.

Are you the proud parent, sibling, grandparent, friend or admirer of a student who's made the honor roll? Did you earn an awesome promotion, get engaged or married? Share the good news on Patch. Whether your kid got straight A's for the first time, you've become a black belt, your company is looking for interns or you have a volunteer opportunity, Patch is the place to let it be known. We have a category for almost everything (births, sports awards, religious occasions, thank you's, etc.), so feel free to post an announcement for just about anything.
