Massive Peanut Product Recall Expands to Target, Wal-Mart, GNC, Starbucks

The recall of products containing peanut butter and other nut butters sold by many retailers under many labels has more than doubled to 240 products, with the FDA reporting a "fast-moving outbreak" of salmonella-induced sickness in 19 states.

Responding to what it called a "fast-moving outbreak" of salmonella-caused sickness in at least 19 states, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has announced that the company recall of nut butter products made by Sunland Inc. and sold under many labels has more than doubled to at least 240 products. The recall list includes several well-known brands and a variety of peanut butter products as well as almond butter, cashew butter, tahini and roasted blanched peanut products. This random list indicates the range: Not every container of the products in the list above or the much longer lists available from the FDA and from Sunland is affected. Peanut Butter Recall Expanded

Sunland, Inc. has expanded their peanut butter recall to include all peanut butter products manufactured after March 1, 2010.

Sunland, Inc. has announced an expansion of its ongoing recall of all products manufactured in its Peanut Butter Plant for potential contamination with Salmonella. The expanded recall includes all products manufactured in its Peanut Butter Plant after March 1, 2010. According to the Food and Drug Administration release, "The scope of the initial recall covered one hundred one (101) products manufactured between May 1, 2012 and September 24, 2012. The expanded recall adds forty-nine (49) products that are currently within the manufacturer’s recommended shelf-life, that is, the 'Best-If-Used-By' dates have not expired.
