Warrington Pipe Bomb Maker to Pay for Police Overtime

Convicted pipe bomb maker John Grzyminski will have to pay back police overtime for the May 2012 incident.

The man in jail for building pipe bombs in the Warrington home he shared with his mother will also have to pay for police overtime accrued during the incident. John Grzyminski, 50, of the 1800 block of Saddle Drive, will have to pay $3,900 in restitution to police, according to WNPV radio. “The taxpayers should not have to foot the bill for his criminal conduct,” Assistant District Attorney A.J. Garabedian told The Intellegencer. On May 9, 2012, Warrington police were called by Grzyminski's elderly mother to investigate a strange object she found with a fuse sticking out in her kitchen. Authorities also discovered bomb making materials in the garage and two more bombs on the second floor of the house. Officials from several jurisdictions …

Warrington Pipe Bomb Maker Gets Prison Time

John Grzyminski pled guilty last September to charges relating to the construction of pipe bombs in his Warrington home.

A Warrington man who pled guilty to manufacturing pipe bombs in his home last year was sentenced Friday.   John Grzyminski, 50, of the 1800 block of Saddle Drive, received 30 months in prison for the illegal possession of an unregistered explosive device. In addition to the prison term, U.S. District Court Judge Stewart Dalzell ordered three years of supervised release. On May 9, 2012, Grzyminski's mother called the Warrington Township Police Department to report that she felt threatened by her son. Police arrived and after the officers left, Grzyminski’s mother found a pipe bomb on her kitchen counter.   A Warrington man wanted since Wednesday for possession of three pipe bombs was arrested Thursday afternoon in Solebury Township. Police involved in the search for John Grzyminski said he was pulled over in a traffic stop and arrested without incident. Local and federal investigators spent Wednesday searching for Grzyminski after the explosive devices were discovered in a home on the 1800 block of Saddle Drive, on the border of Warrington and Warminster. Warrington police were called by Grzyminski's mother, with whom he shares the home, at around 4 p.m. Investigators said she came home after several days of being away to discover a pipe bomb like device on the kitchen counter. The bomb squad later discovered another two devices in …

I'd love to know (as I'm sure the police would) just exactly what this guy planned to do with these potential weapons. This is one story where I'm extra eager to read the follow-up. As a bit of comic relief to this scary story: If manufacturing weapons of mass destruction; risking a catastrophe; and recklessly endangering another person are all crimes, my ex-wife should have been arrested long …   more ›

Possible Bombs Found off Valley Road

Three devices were found in Warrington. Federal authorities are looking to speak with a "person of interest."

Local and federal law enforcement are looking for a “person of interest” in connection with three pipe bombs that were discovered in a residence in the 1800 block of Saddle Drive just off Valley Road in Warrington Township Wednesday afternoon. The man authorities are looking for is a 50-something-year-old man, said by neighbors to be named “John.” The man is wanted for questioning by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in connection with three possible explosive devices that were found in the home he lived in with an elderly woman, possibly his mother, Assistant Special Agent in Charge Sam Rabadi said Wednesday evening. Rabadi would not release more information on the man. Warrington police were called by the elderly …
