Police Release Sketch of Purse Snatching Suspect

The incident occurred last week outside AC Moore on Street Road. The suspect escaped in the direction of Norristown Road, causing a two-hour lockdown of Willow Dale Elementary and Log College Middle School.

The Warminster Police Department has released the sketch of the suspect accused of forcibly taking an elderly woman's purse in the parking lot of AC Moore last week. The suspect, described as a white male, possibly in his early 20s and wearing a dark jacket, jeans, wool hat and a light beard, took the purse on the morning of Dec. 6 and escaped into the woods along Norristown Road.  Police advised the school district to place the nearby Willow Dale and Log College campuses on lockdown as officers and a K-9 unit searched the area. UPDATED: Purse Snatching Causes Lockdown of Willow Dale and Log College

The incident happened at the nearby AC Moore parking lot, and Warminster police advised the district to conduct the lockdown as a precaution. It was lifted at 12:45 p.m.

A purse snatching Thursday morning in the parking lot of AC Moore on Street Road forced Centennial School District officials to place nearby Willow Dale Elementary and Log College Middle School on lockdown. A statement from the Warminster Police Department says the assailant, a white male possibly in his early 20s with a light beard and wearing a dark jacket, jeans and wool hat, took the purse from an elderly woman who was with her husband at the time.
