Lt. James Donnelly Named Next Warminster Police Chief

Donnelly, a 17-year veteran of the force, will take the department's top position next month.

Lt. James Donnelly will replace Police Chief S. Michael Murphy, who officially announced his planned departure from the Warminster Police Department Thursday evening.  Murphy will be leaving at the end of the month to take a position as the chief of police of the Upper Moreland Township Police Department.  Murphy, his voice quivering with emotion, expressed his gratitude to everyone who has supported him over the last eight years.  “It has been my absolute pleasure to serve this community,” he said.  Board of Supervisors Chairperson Leo Quinn said the township had worked very hard to secure a chief like Murphy, and formally recognized him for his outstanding service to the township.  “[Chief Murphy] lead, reorganized and brought the …

DA: Police Bullet Killed Innocent Neighbor at Jefferson on the Creek

Bucks County District Attorney David Heckler calls the actions by police 'excusable' and says he will not seek to prosecute the officers.

Bucks County District Attorney David Heckler said 89-year-old Marie Zienkewicz died being a good neighbor. In a press conference Thursday afternoon, Heckler said Zienkewicz opened her door to help her neighbor during a shootout between police and Andrew Cairns when she was hit by a bullet fired from a police rifle  The woman Heckler said Zienkewicz was trying to help, Deborah Silva, was the girlfriend of Cairns. Heckler said Cairns fired at least 19 rounds at officers who were responding to a call from Silva to their apartment at the Jefferson on the Creek complex. Warminster Man Arrested Following Alleged Sexual Assault

According to police, a woman reported that her neighbor attempted to assault her Monday.

Police arrested a Warminster man Monday evening after a neighbor said he sexually assaulted her.  Augustin Dominguez-Duran, 40, of the 100 Block of East Street Road, was charged with attempted sexual assault and two counts of indecent assault. Police said the victim was able to "bluff" Dominguez-Duran and escape from the attack Monday morning. According to police the victim immediately reported the incident, and Dominguez-Duran was taken into custody Monday evening. Dominguez-Duran was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge William Benz. He taken to the Bucks County Correctional Facility in lieu $50,000 bail. A hearing date has not been set.

Judge Drops Oppression Charge Against Warminster Cop

PhillyBurbs.com reports Warminster Cpl. Michael Allen Schmalz escaped an oppression charge Wednesday, but he will still face trial in Bucks County Court on charges of tampering with public records and harassment.

Missing Warminster Woman Located

Police said Maureen Panetta, a Warminster woman who was reportedly missing since Saturday, has been located

Warminster Police have located a woman who was reported missing earlier this week.  Read: Police Search for Missing Warminster Woman  The police department issued a statement Wednesday saying that Maureen Panetta was found safe and unharmed. Police said detectives worked in conjunction with Panetta's friends and family to locate her, after she disappeared on Saturday evening. They do not suspect any foul play.  Police said no further information is being released out of respect for the family's privacy.

Police Search For Missing Warminster Woman

Maureen Panetta of Victoria Road has been missing since Saturday.

The Warminster Township Police Department is conducting an investigation for a missing person. Police are looking for Maureen L. Panetta of the 1200 block of Victoria Road. Maureen is described as a white female with black hair and brown eyes, 5'0" tall and 140 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black sweater, red turtleneck, grey jeans and black sneakers.  Maureen was last seen in Feasterville around 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12. She was driving in her red 2006 Nissan Sentra with PA registration HBP 9649. Police said Maureen suffers from bipolar disorder and depression, and has been reported to have been found disoriented in the past.  Anyone with contact with Maureen or her vehicle is asked to call Warminster Police at 215-443-5000 or …
