How has this Warminster neighborhood changed over the years?
The passage of time is pretty clear between this week's photographs. This random road in Warminster, Locust St. to be exact, shows plenty of growth in the township's neighborhoods. The older photograph was contributed by reader Ann Born, a member of the "I Grew Up in Warminster" Facebook group. If you enjoy this feature and have any vintage photos of Warminster, you can either post them here, or e-mail them to James.Boyle@patch.com.

Big changes took place on this stretch of Street Road in less than 20 years.

There were lots of changes on Street Road, compared to the photograph taken in 1996 and one taken today. The large open area has since been turned into a shopping center that features Shop Rite, Kohl's and PetSmart. Some may bristle at the land development, but it should be noted that there are no unoccupied commercial spaces at the center. The older photograph was contributed by Stephen Leggett, a member of the "I Grew Up in Warminster" Facebook group. We are still looking for photos from other parts of Warminster, and we need your help. If you enjoy this feature and have any vintage photos of Warminster, you can either post them here, or e-mail them to James.Boyle@patch.com.

This office building got a bit of a face lift between the 40-plus years these photos were taken. The two buildings were combined into one, and the property looks a bit better for it. I've lived in Warminster all my life, but I've never actually set foot in those offices. The older photograph was again contributed by reader Ann Born, a member of the "I Grew Up in Warminster" Facebook group. Many of the pictures that will be posted for this feature in the coming weeks will include sights along York Road. We are also looking for photos from other parts of Warminster, but your help is needed. Some familiar sights are visible in a picture of York Road in 1970.

It was not easy getting this week's shot to match the one from 1970. Fortunately, the traffic broke long enough to stand on York Road and get a picture of one of Warminster's main streets. It's easy to see how the town has changed between the two photos, from the cars being driven to the landscaping along the road. We're going postal this week for Warminster Then & Now. Like the township building, the post office has not received any drastic changes since 1970. There are little differences, of course, such as the satellite dish on the roof and the addition of a walkway. The government building does not look too different compared to a photograph taken in 1970.

This week's installment of Warminster Then & Now features the Warminster Township Administration building, located at the corner of Henry and Gibson. The older photograph was again contributed by reader Ann Born, a member of the "I Grew Up in Warminster" Facebook group. At first glance, there does not appear to be many differences between the phot taken in 1970 and today. Clearly, there is a bit more landscaping around the building, but the structure looks similar. Welcome to the first installment of a new weekly feature called Warminster Then & Now. Each week, an old photograph of the township will be compared with a similar shot taken today. Our first photograph was contributed by reader Ann Born, a member of the "I Grew Up in Warminster" Facebook group. Taken in 1970, it is a shot of the Shop Rite grocery store that was located on York Road, across the street from the post office. Now, 43 years later, the site has been turned into a TD Bank, with a patch of grass replacing the large parking lot. If you enjoy this feature and have any vintage photos of Warminster, you can either post them here, or e-mail them to James.Boyle@patch.com.

This is an amazing little project you've got going. I wish I had something to contribute, but I don't really. I lived in Warminster from my birth in 1978 through 1997, and then part-time, when home from college, etc through January 2004. Please keep it up. I'll be linking to you on Facebook when I get the chance.   more ›
