ReplySO!!!! Disgusted with people who write in with the " he made a mistake" BS.......... A mistake is when you forget to tie your shoes and trip. What he did was blatantly illegal and he did this know full well what the repercussions were. I caught a " those without sin cast the first stone" comment...How about " those who aren't drug dealers cast the first stone instead? Boo hoo..he was a drug dealer and got himself killed. Did he never watch TV,internet footage, newspapers and come to the conclusion that the " thug life" as they all love to call it can get you dead? All of you writing in with " what a good kid he was........WHAT are you using as your baseline for " good???? The fact that you were caught in a mall parking lot with a pound of pot and weapons and money somehow makes you " good"? It sucks that someone dies at 19, but lets grow some backbone here and quit dancing around the truth............

On the article Has Gun Control Gone Too Far?

ReplyFew years back after a church run yard sale a boy who helped clean up after the event still had some un sold silverware in a box in the back of his truck, along with other items. He drove to school the next day, was immed. suspended for having a knife on school property...a butter knife, that was part of the unsold silverware set, still in a box in the back of his truck but in plain view enough for a teacher to spot it walking in. It's sad to live in a world where people are so HORRIFIED " something" may happen that we try to thwart things which were never crimes to begin with......

ReplyNot a pot smoker myself, nor do I see any reason to make yet another " abusable substance"? readily available to those what feel like buying it. My question....how will making pot legal raise revenue considerably? From what I gather, it's quite simple to grow yourself, why wouldn't I just grow my own? Why would I purchase something that is very likely going to be heavily taxed if for a minimal investment I can grow it right in my basement. Sure go rant about people still buy alcohol, alcohol is not easy to make in your own home. It takes up a fair amount of room and doesnt always turn out drinkable. Oh, but people buy cigarettes! Yes, yet another product that is fairly well impossible to manufacture start to finish in your own home. I've heard for such a long time the Mantra of the potheads of " It'll get the country out of debt!".Well, it is apparently already available in quantity, which tell me SOMEONE is already growing it....are you telling me that you would instead buy it from the Wa Wa as you would a pack of cigarettes when you can go buy what will be a perfectly legal product from someone you've been buying from for years and just bypass the tax?

On the article Pa. Divided on Same Sex Marriage

ReplyJust a quick note for those who say " I'm fine with it but the LGBT crowd doesn't always have to be in my face about it." We are not " in your face" anymore than anyone who feels their rights are being infringed upon. I read the banality of some of these posters and ask myself " is THIS what we're up against?". People who think same sex marriage is no different than marrying a 10 year old? People who think their god will strike them dead if they have to stand in line behind me at the grocery store? It's sad that there are such a small handful of " educated" people who reply here. Even if your reply is against same sex marriage, thats fine, just give me real world reasons and we can work on them together. Tell me it will hurt our economy, tell me it will hinder you in your job performance, tell me it will somehow deplete the ozone...Just give me reasons for your thoughts ,not the constant gibberish of your knee jerk reactions to things that make you feel uneasy........

ReplyYet another point for the ' but my god said......." people. If you do nothing but quote your bible for reasons that same sex marriage should not be allowed I will also start quoting your bible. Lets see how well you stand up to " but my god said...."

ReplyAmazed that this is even a discussion. The argument against same sex marriage is all about religion. If your god says you can't watch Dr Who on Sundays than don't watch it, just go go telling me I can't. To state that it's " okay, as long as we just say civil union" is prejudicial. Not that long ago in this country inter-racial marriage was taboo, did we grant them the title of " Inter-racially joined"? one of the funny things is, 20 years from now people will look back on all the naysayers with the same distaste as we do now at the ones who tried to prevent blacks from riding in the front of the bus.

Interesting how it was " unconstitutional" to have to prove I really AM a citizen to vote in pa but it's perfectly acceptable to take away my ' right to bear arms".....

ReplyYou know you've done something worthwhile in your life when Westboro Baptist boycots you.....Concerning the whole " separation of Church and State " issue, that was written to gaurentee the state, meaning our government, could not dictate which religion you followed. It has absolutely nothing to do with churches being tax exempt.

ReplyEvery day we hear about veterans coming home to record unemployment, why not just leave them on active duty status, retain their military pay grade, and post them at schools. This would not require the hiring of new police nor ( I think ) would have a significant impact monetarily. I believe the opposite would be most likely since all the unemployed veterans would than BE employed thus putting money back into the economy that they would not otherwise have.

The reason we " promote" such gatherings and events is because we like to have orgy's and be promiscuous and are doing our BEST to collapse society as we know it.........oh wait, maybe it's just to go hang out with like minded people who don't view us as social pariahs...
