If government subsidies to the young, able bodied were stopped today, Norristown would be quite inhabitable in a year. Our taxes enable the crime and violence.

ReplyAge discrimination is rampant, indeed. Employers mostly want younger, cheaper employees over experienced (more expensive) applicants. I have several 50+ family members, with degrees, out of work for over two years. If they were 30 years younger, they'd be employed. Losing one's job in your 50's is often permanent in your chosen field - unless you know someone.

Naked on your hands and knees yelling 'Adam and Eve,' while your friend holds your clothes and smiles, is all anyone has to know about you. Rumor has it that God did not encourage you to smoke wet, but wants you to get a job and support your children.

ReplyThis is not unique to Norristown. Videos of fights, mayhem, criminal activity originate in every urban community in the world. While it has always been there, thanks to Obama-phones, it's now being recorded for the ages. As the videos show, these aren't the best and brightest, but folks destined to be permanent, taxpayer burdens.

We got a laugh seeing the garbage truck, so maybe it was there for comic relief. I've watched/participated in many parades, but don't recall a garbage truck before Saturday.

I know a lot of folks who use Marijuana, and all are unemployed. 20s, 30s, and early 40s living in their parent's home. Sleep during the day, and smoke/video games at night, and sell to others to pay for their non-physical habit. They make up much of the 47%. Marijuana seems to rob some folks of their life by allowing too easy escape from responsibilities - and yes, the parents are enablers.
