Devon, Here's a helpful suggestion, when you are trying to make a point don't demonized the other side by stating that they will have a panic attack. People feel strong about their constitutional rights, you can't just dismiss that by making law abiding gun owners sound crazy. If you really want to do something about gun violence, I suggest starting with the welfare system. Yes I said it! It's a system that sets people up for failure generation after generation and it has gotten out of control. The system needs to be a helping hand (temporary)....not a way of life! I heard a black preacher say yesterday that we are seeing the result of crack babies all grown up running a mock in Chicago.

The thing that cracks me up about these polls is that most people are like me....clueless of the existing laws and clueless what the term assault weapon means. The general idea of gun control and banning assault weapons SOUNDS great! I would rather not have ignorance guide us though. We see where that got us in the presidential election.

ReplyAmend, I have to admit that after this stream....I would have to say I would vote present. Neither side has given me a reason to vote their way. I am not an intolerant right or left winger. I truly am a moderate republican and like to decide issues case by case. I take offense to people who try to tear down all republicans or all Christians. All that argument does is piss me off! That is probably why I sounded so harsh! I don't like people quoting the bible either or telling everyone what Jesus would do. Make your own call. Trying to teach tolerance by being intolerant on either side doesn't help.

ReplyMarc, I was responding to people trying to vilify the other side! Just because someone doesn't support gay marriage doesn't make them a bigot or a hater. They just don't believe in it. You can't jam your belief on them! There are people who are loving people who just don't believe in it. Let me make this clear...do what you want. People calling God a dick and making fun of people who believe in the bible doesn't help your cause. I call it your cause because it's not my cause...I don't care! I never said I was against gay marriage. All my comments were in reference to homosexuality. Like I said, you don't have to care who accepts you, but don't bastardize people who aren't in step with you! Get over yourselves.

(sarcasm....in case you didn't recognize that!). Tim, I really hope this isn't just about acceptance because I can assure you that the banter that has gone on here has only alienated people from your cause. You have to understand that there are people who just aren't going to ACCEPT your choice of lifestyle no matter how hard you stomp your feet. The funny thing is I never said I was against gay marriage. Although I believe the "act" is a sin, I don't care what you do. It is your choice! I sin all the time. Whose to judge? I believe abortion is a sin, but I will not tell another woman what her choice should be. I believe it's all between the individual and God. That's what is so funny about you people...you jumped the gun and made wrong assumptions. Thankfully, I know that not all gay people or gay rights people are as nasty and ignorant as you! You really don't help your cause!

Leigh, That's not completely true. I saw an Oprah show once about women who decided they had enough of men and switched teams because woman understood them better. I am not saying that is the norm, but I guess it does happen. I also saw a show regarding gay men who "turn on and off " their flamboyant behavior. Why is that necessary?
