ReplyWard 3 will also have a special election in November: Michael O'Conner (D) will be going up against "incumbent" Lawrence Jones (R) who was appointed to his post.
With nine of the fifteen seats up for grabs, the Abington Commissioners can (and should) have a whole new look next November.
In addition there will be the School Board up for election, Superior Court, Court of Common Please & Tax Collector.

ReplyHe's certainly in the top 3 behind Norm Van Brocklin and Randall Cunningham, and just a bit ahead of Ron Jaworski. But there's no way that McNabb is the best QB the Eagles have ever had. That's just silly.

ReplyAs someone who often receives packages of stuff in the mail (sometimes stuff I had no idea was on the way), I wonder if she stole some of those, too. I really hope they drop the hammer on her and make her serve the maximum possible term as a determent to other offenders -- especially since this is a federal crime.

Chris: You can't use taxpayer dollars to teach common sense. Sighted people will continue getting hit by trains when they think they can beat one across the tracks.

ReplyThey should work on making it into an airport and parking area for Flying Cars, because I have a feeling that by time something is FINALLY done with it, we will all be able to own those as-of-yet undeveloped but often promised modes of personal air transportation.

ReplyNever...EVER...send cash or gift cards via regular mail. Use either a courier service or (even better) paypal or some other online resource to pay people -- even if it's just a gift. Ted is right about a few things, namely the USPO losing money like crazy. Stuff like this is the reason why.

I'm not opposed to a Super WaWa, but why do they keep popping up like crazy as the plan for every open retail space? They're building one about a mile and a half south on Old York Road, and there is a Giant gas station that just opened right down from this proposed site. There's already a WaWa near the one they're building at Cheltnea and Old York Roads. There's the WaWa in Roslyn and another WaWa on Moreland across from the mall. I'd love to see something that brings more jobs to the area (and traffic impact will be rather minimal) but c'mon...how many WaWas do we need in three square miles?
