This country is insane where guns are concerned. The notion that virtually anyone can buy a gun without background check is nuts. The fact that law enforcement has no ability to trace the provenance of a gun recovered at a crime scene is nuts.
The Framers would be ashamed that their Bill of Rights has been so bastardized in its contemporary interpretation by a feckless Supreme Court and legislative branch.

ReplyHere, here. Score one for the community.
OTOH, wouldn't it have made sense to have raised the issue of demolishing the courts with the community before the township contracted with a firm to raze them? Hopefully not too much money is wasted as a result of the cancelled contract but it was an unnecessary expenditure had the Board of Supervisors and school district exercised a little forethought ahead of time.

ReplyFinanced with 100% Federal funds. And I thought the Commonwealth government generally, and the governor specifically, hated the Federal government.
Can't wait until 2014 when we get the option of Federal Health Insurance exchanges. The ones that are the result of the governor being unwilling to set up state exchanges.
Don't get me wrong; this is all good. 202 needs to be widened, infrastructure improvement provides jobs and stimulates the economy. It would just be refreshing if the knuckleheads in Harrisburg weren't knuckleheads.

ReplyMaybe a contest is in order to guess the real reason Brown left?
Fiduciary/fiscal impropriety
Sex scandal
Abrasive/abusive management style
Represented himself dishonestly to the township but someone discovered the skeleton(s) in his closetAny other good guesses?
Abrupt departures happen but "escorted out of the building" generally do not and certainly not because the escorted party wanted to "pursue other opportunities." Someone is trying to sweep something under the rug. It would serve the residents of Easttown well to find out what that something might be.

On the article TE Home Sales Picking Up Compared to 2012

ReplyThe small number of homes makes the median price somewhat irrelevant because it is likely a comparison of apples to oranges. Maybe of greater significance is that more luxury homes are moving on the market, but this will only be borne out if the pattern continues over a period of months.

On the article Stronger Gun Laws Wanted in Pa., Poll Says

The conclusion I come to is that a lot of guns come into Chicago from surrounding areas that have much more lax gun laws. Just as many guns come into NY and NJ from VA, where the laws are much more lax.

I'm much more interested in the nature of the theft of $6K worth of alcohol. Rare wines? Some great single malt? The best tequila ever distilled? Inquiring minds what to know!
