Nativity Carnival Dries Off for Week of Fun

A rainy Tuesday put a bit of a damper on the Nativity of Our Lord Carnival's opening day, but local fun-seekers have plenty of time to enjoy the parish's annual fundraiser.

Volunteers will be start serving up funnel cake as the lines form for the ferris wheel when the carnival opens to the public at 6 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.

This year, mega passes are available for $40. With the mega pass, users can ride all night, every night through Saturday. Family night is Thursday, offering unlimited ride wristbands for $20.

Riders can take a break from the long lines and enjoy a few games of Bingo in the school classrooms. A casino will also be open every night in the church hall, with poker, blackjack, roulette and money wheels.

Irish Dancers from the Dave Gibson School will provide live entertainment Wednesday night, with local bands Saturn and Some Assembly Required taking the stage Thursday and Friday, respectively.
